As one of the world class ski destinations in the Untied States Beaver Creek is a resort all skiers should hit up at least once. This article is for those of you thinking of taking your next ski vacation to Beaver Creek and want some more information of basic mountain facilities and services.
The resort is just south of Avon, Colorado and is run by Vail Resorts. Its west and about two and a half hours from the Denver International Airport. The resort itself is made of three separate villages: Beaver Creek Village, Bachelor Gulch,and Arrowhead.
The resort has a base elevation of 8,100 feet and a top elevation of 11,440 feet. The average snowfall is nearly 310 inches a year and covers 1,625 skiable acres of terrain. So expect lots of snow and lots of space to experience that snow. There are 148 ski runs and longest of which is the Centennial at 2.75 miles. The ski runs are broken down at 19% for beginners, 43% for intermediate, and another 38% for experts. There are 4 terrain parks for the snowboarders and a half pipe.
Beaver Creek Village has an amazing nightlife with lots of activities. If your traveling with friends Avon is very close. Avon and Vail are famous (or infamous) for its nightlife. Another great fact about skiing in the Rockies is there are so many resorts all close together. So if you feel the need the check out other resort during your stay there are plenty of options.
