How to Freestyle Snowboard – Tips and Tricks

If you are wanting to learn more about freestyle snowboarding, then check out Snowboard Addiction by Nev Lapwood. Snowboarding is a pretty rad and adrenaline pumping sport. Snowboarding is usually popular among participants under the age of 30, being a very fast paced sport much like the other 3 sports its created from. Skiing, surfing and skateboard definitely inspired snowboarding to be what it is today. When I think of snowboarding, I think of a snowboarder coming down the mountain hitting jumps and doing 360′s. This reminds me of how a surfer freestyles. Freestyle snowboarding, in a sense actually resembles skateboarding a lot, with very similar tricks and movement relating to the boards.

Freestyle snowboarding uses the simple man man objects that are usually found in skate parks. The designers tack on stuff like ramps, jumps, boxes, rails and other neat little innovations to add to the terrain. This means that your changing terrain becomes as much a part of the sport like the wave in surfing or the city in skateboarding. Each feature is a chance for the freestyle snowboarder to demonstrate their skills. So that they can get good points, the riders need to be skillful, but also use their noggin to figure out what terrain points would look unique for tricks.

Things like a box, a jump or a long metal rail are usually used to show slides or jibs. Boxes are objects with slick tops that allow the snowboarder to slide across on the base of their board. Boxes are very versatile in that they can be made into any shape or size. Using multiple difficulty levels with test the freestyler’s skill. Rails are long and narrow strips of metal that a boarder can use for slides or jumps. A jib is a cool trick that is basically done by sliding across a box, rail, press on a box or other object not made of snow. Get more info. I also went the extra mile and found a good Snowboard Addiction review for you.
